Apostle Turnel Nelson made his glorious transition while at home at 12:45 a.m. on October 11, 2006 after a long bout
with cancer.  He was prepared and ready.

Apostle Nelson made an indelible impact on the spiritual and social landscape in Trinidad and Tobago, in the
Caribbean, in the Americas and all across the world. He provided excellent dynamic leadership in spiritual matters at
the level of his own congregation in Woodbrook, in Trinidad and Tobago and in the Caribbean where he occupied the
position of top leadership in the fellowship and was singled out for spiritual advice by governments.

In 1958, while still in his teenage years, he started by evangelizing every village in Tobago, the place of his birth.
Today, Tobago is very strong with the gospel message and thousands who enjoy the born-again, spirit-filled
experience.

Transferred to Woodbrook as Pastor of that assembly in January 1965, Rev. Nelson revolutionized not just the
Woodbrook Pentecostal Church  - considered by most to be the mother church of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the
West Indies -  but also the whole evangelical field as his influence extended to many other denominations and religious
persuasions.

He was elected to serve as the General Superintendent of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies, the highest
office in the Caribbean and was responsible for 240 churches and some 75,000 members and adherents across the
region.

A founding member of the International Third World Leaders Association with Ministers of religion from the Caribbean,
Africa and the Americas, he was the First Vice President of that body which made a great contribution in many parts of
the world.

An anointed preacher and excellent expositor of the Word, he was ordained an Apostle with recognition from some
three hundred churches in the United States of America, Brazil, Africa, England and other countries.  His ministry
impacted the world.  He had a deep understanding and appreciation of the Word of God and he preached with
spirit-led interpretation and consistency with the Holy Bible.

Under his ministry, thousands accepted Christ as Saviour; many received the infilling of the Holy Spirit, miracles of
healing took place, prophecies were fulfilled; lives were transformed and many churches were reformed.

Apostle Nelson was a Radio and Television speaker,  authored two books and has many tapes and videos as his
ministry was in great demand both in Trinidad and Tobago and all over the world.

With his indomitable spirit, Apostle Nelson ministered in every village in Trinidad and Tobago in his forty six [46] years
of public ministry and preached the message of salvation in nearly every church in the nation.  Indeed, he positively
altered the presentation of the Gospel message in Trinidad and Tobago and the world.  Over his forty six [46] year
ministry period he reached millions in the Caribbean, the Americas, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, England,
Europe and India.

Rev. Nelson was considered to be a Spiritual Father to many Ministers, Pastors, Evangelists, Prophets and Teachers
and was made a General Bishop and Apostle through the esteem in which he was held in the Christian circle.

Apostle Nelson leaves his wife, the Reverend Jocelyn Nelson, and a world of family and friends to cherish his ministry
and memories.
