WEEKLY PRAYERS
Throughout the week pray for all those who are in the armed forces stationed throughout
the world and their families.

Remember the
sick and infirmed, those in  hospitals; the lonely and bereaved, those
incarcerated; depressed and frustrated;

Remember the aged; the orphans; the widows; the abused;

Remember the
homeless, drug addicts, alcoholics;

Remember the youth, and young adults, especially males;

Remember the Church of Jesus Christ everywhere!

Your thumb is nearest to you, so begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you.
They are the easiest to remember.

The
index finger is the pointing finger.  Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal.  Also
pray for the leaders of the Church.  They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the
right direction.

The next finger is the
tallest finger.  It reminds us of our civil leaders.  Pray for the President,
leaders in business and industry.  Thse people shape our nation and guide public opinion, and
they need God’s guidance.

The fourth finger is the
ring finger. Surprising to many it is the weakest finger as any piano
teacher will testify.  It should remind us to pray for thos who are weak, in trouble and in pain.
They need our prayers day and night.  You cannot pray too much for them.

Lastly, comes our
little finger,  the smallest of them all.  Which is where we should place
ourselves in relation to God and others.  Your pinky shoud remind you to pray for yourself.  By
the time you have prayed the other four fingers, your needs will be put into proper perspective
and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
